Our barrier

Today, I would like to talk to you about my hobby.
And, would like to talk about what I think through this hobby.

My hobby is running.
I started it 10 years ago.
When I began to run, I couldn't run even one kilometer.

However, as I continued training everyday, my running distance was gradually increased.
My weight was gradually decreased.
That was very happy!

1years later, I participated in the full marathon, and I completed it.
Since then, I had participated in marathon races 2or3 times in a year.

One day, I was invited the circle which member runs together with the visually impaired runner.
Members of the circle run wearing a printed shirt "Guide Runner, " "Visually Impaired runner" and rope with their hand.

In this circle, I met many visually impaired friends.
And I met the new pleasure of the running.

When I run with them, I must tell every obstacle for them.
For example, bumps, slopes, and pedestrian and so on.

It is one of my important missions.

But, what is the most more important, to tell them what kind of place we are in now.

What kind of flower is there?
What kind of tree is there?
What kind of bird is there?
What are peoples doing now?

Though it is difficult, worthwhile very much.
In order to tell them this information, I came to observe my surroundings more carefully.

It's more fun running and talking together with friend than running alone.
I can support them to share with them the world that I see now.

I had participated in many races with them.
Not only in domestic but also overseas races.
New York, Auckland, Seoul, Hong Kong.
When I have traveled with them, I have noticed many things.

The efforts of each country to improve the environment for disabilities.
How they coexist with people with disabilities.

Those facts teach me "what the barrier is".
I am always thinking "what is our barrier?"

Now, I have a big barrier that I can not speak English.
What I need to overcome this barrier is not only my own efforts but also your supports.
Please support me.
Of course I will support you, also.
Let's overcome this barrier together,
Let's enjoy our school days!
